Live status
Per region health and latency for
chris-nelson.dev
This page calls a small AWS Lambda-powered status API. Behind the scenes all traffic is served through a single Amazon CloudFront distribution in front of the S3 site for chris-nelson.dev.
Route 53 health checks probe that CloudFront endpoint from multiple AWS regions. The Lambda function reads those health check results and turns them into readable tables with per-region health and a single real latency measurement from the Lambda region.
Health checks
Per region health status
Current health by AWS health check region against the CloudFront distribution for chris-nelson.dev. Each row shows the HTTP status and any error message reported by the Route 53 health checks when reaching CloudFront.
Note: Enabling the WAF applies geo-based restrictions and will intentionally cause some health checks from blocked regions to fail. That is expected and reflects the current WAF policy rather than an outage.

Latency
TLS handshake and TTFB (real measurement)
A single real latency measurement from the Lambda function's AWS region. The function calls the CloudFront endpoint for chris-nelson.dev and records how long it takes to complete the TLS handshake and receive the first byte. This is what a client in that region sees when talking to the CloudFront front end.
